  4. [2022] Sailplane Grand Prix Series

    Ten Qualifying SGPs wil be held leading up to the final at Pavullo, Italy in August 2023. During the spring and summer 2022, seven Grand Prix will take place starting with Borås, Sweden in May and culminating at Vinon in the French Alps in September.

    You can follow the races here and on the event websites. Below is a preview of the terrain and the weather conditions that can be expected for the events.

    La Fédération Suisse de Vol à Voile met à jour un fichier des espaces aériens Suisse au format « openair », compatible avec SeeYou et la plupart des GPS utilisés par les vélivoles.

    Le SIA lance sa première application mobile grand public d’information aéronautique ..... on a envie de dire : "Enfin !" 😬

    Disponible sur l’Apple Store (ipad uniquement) et sur Google Play Store, au format tablette dans un premier temps, l'application SOFIA VAC apporte une aide supplémentaire au pilote dans la préparation de son vol  en situation de mobilité tout en garantissant la fiabilité des informations.

    Il peut ainsi consulter l'ensemble des cartes VAC et visualiser sur un fond cartographique d’autres informations utiles à son vol, notamment les espaces aériens.

    I wrote the first edition of this guide in 1996 because I couldn’t find a comprehensive guide to aid my friends and I when we began flying self-launching sailplanes. The majority of it is aimed at self-launching, high performance sailplanes in general, though much of it also pertains to sustainer equipped sailplanes, and even “touring” motorglider owners can benefit.
    Permission is granted for limited quoting and entire copies for personal use, provided credit is
    given to the author.
    I strongly encourage any reader to contact me if they believe there are errors, important
    omissions, a better or alternative way to do things, or if the clarity and accuracy of the guide can
    be improved.
