Chers amis, Je vous retransmets le message reçu de Bariloche, qui nous informe de la prochaine mise en service d’une webcam au-dessus d’un nid d’un condor positionné une dizaine de mètres au-dessus du niveau du lac Nahuel Huapi. Le « poussin », une femelle, est déjà né (voir photo) et la webcam restera en service pendant au moins une année afin de documenter le mieux possible l’apprentissage du vol, qui dure au moins une année depuis la naissance. La position du nid est ici Christian Holler est un producteur cinématographique, son dernier film étant le documentaire “The Path of the Condor” bande annonce https://vimeo.com/61433285 (téléchargeable), auquel j’avais collaboré il y a six ans. Il est également parapentiste de bon niveau et vélivole débutant, passager de Klaus Ohlmann lors du record en triangle de 1.600km Ce message est également un « appel au peuple » pour aider à clore le budget de ce projet au moyen du système Kickstarter qui permet de contribuer à partir de 1 US$. J’ai personnellement participé pour 25$, ce qui me donnera droit à utiliser des images du condor en HD. We are close to start broadcasting live from an andean condor nest through the internet for the world, and will show a condor family life for everybody to enjoy. Apart form that fun stuff, ornithologist Lorenzo Sympson is performing a complete study on this nest, on a first time ever project of this fashion. And all this, plus a TV documentary, will be part of a conservation education project, using technology + nature to take our conservation message to people all over the world.
