  1. Hi Ludovic, Thanks for the feedback! -Thermal strength: I disagree, but many people ask me this so I think I must do it! I will change it before next season. - Wind Speed: You can change this to kts already, Settings -> Units. km/h will come as an option in the future. - Vertical velocity units: I will be changing this soon too. Preloading is complex, because I don't know what exactly you will look at and the total package for the day for all parameters and hours is almost 1GB. Instead I am going to move some servers to Europe for next season so that you load images from Frankfurt rather than USA. This should make them load faster even on slower connections such that I think any preloading will not be necessary.
  2. I fixed the bugs CPT raised. Denis: Our automatic validations shows very good correlation with reality (on temperature/dewpoint/pressure), and my own qualitative analysis shows equivalent or superior performance to other soaring models in general. I used these forecasts myself to great success in competitions (find me on IGC Rankings if you do not believe me). The reality of most models these days is a similar level of forecasting skill and the differences between them are usually subtle, as such generally we agree with majority of other models. What is most important is presentation of this data in a format and interface able to be understood by pilots. For example, I think no other services have presentations of wave or convergence as we do. I also note no other commercial services are brave enough to leave their previous forecasts online CPT: Reviewing historical forecasts is with images only - we cannot store the full model files needed for SkewT and Cross Section functionality indefinitely as they are 1TB+/day. Furthermore, performance of SkySight's forecasts was adequate to break the world altitude record yesterday: https://twitter.com/PerlanProject/status/904362964911886336 https://twitter.com/PerlanProject/status/904388851178901504
  3. Hi, I am the lead developer of SkySight. We do not have anyone on our team yet who speaks French but we hope to have someone soon and then we can have a French translation too. In response to your questions: We run a high resolution fork of WRF, and each forecast updates once per day - todays forecast updates at 8am CEST and tomorrow and the day after at 4pm CEST. Further ahead daily but at specific intervals we do not promise. This new SkewT functionality was only written last week, so please report any bugs you find via help or direct to me at matthew@skysight.io and I will investigate. No use to us if you just post on forums where we may never find them, or if we do find them it will be too late to investigate. I am doing weather forecasts with SkySight every day at Serres and I believe the pilots here are very happy with them and I get good feedback some of which I have already incorporated into SkySight. For example, you will see now thermals are no longer limited to 2600m in the alps. Via Google Translate for your convenience: Salut,Je suis le développeur principal de SkySight.
