Improvements of the Details Page:

 

1. Added wind indicator.

To provide a better situational awareness WinPilot now shows wind indicator and scale next to the airport diagram on the Details Page.

 

2. WinPilot now recommends a runway given the current wind direction.

For airports from WinPilot database that have runway information, WinPilot now recommends which runway should be selected for landing based on the current wind direction. That runway is marked with a green rectangle around runway numbers.

One can test this feature in Simulator mode by going to Menu.Settings, entering some wind speed and direction, and then invoking Details page either by double-clicking on an airport on the map, or selecting Menu.Waypoints, highlighting an airport, and switching to the Details Page tab for that airport (third tab on the top of the page).

 

3. Airport info list and runway diagram are now resizable.

To make it easier to see all important information without scrolling, the airport/waypoint info window can now be easily enlarged by touching it. The same applies to the airport diagram in the lower part of the page.

This can be tested by simply clicking anywhere on the list (or on the map).

 

Other work:

 

Auto-restart for start line start gate.

When Menu.Rules.Start Gate Type is set to Start Line, WinPilot automatically starts the task when start line is crossed. Now, when WinPilot detects that the glider came back behind the start line, the task is automatically restarted.

 

Scale indicator now supports statute miles.

When Menu.Units.Distance are set to statute miles, the scale indicator in the upper right corner of the map uses statute miles.

 

Added wind indicator to Climb Maximizer.

WP PRO only: when Climb Maximizer is on the screen during circling, in the lower right corner of the screen WinPilot now shows wind speed and direction.
